Democratic Volunteers to gather at Hildegard's Cafe

This is Christopher Casey, the Democratic Party of Georgia's  Field Organizer for South and Coastal Georgia. A while back you had signed up to Volunteer with the Hillary for Georgia campaign.  And while much has changed since then, it was good  to see these two remarkable candidates together, in a spirit of unity, in Unity, N.H. We are calling upon you as we enter our general election to marshall your concern for all that has gone wrong over the years into dedicated action by volunteering. One particuarly critical way you could do this is by becoming a Neighborhood Leader.

What we ask of the Neighborhood Leader is that you contact 25(or more) of your neighbors, three times before election day, and to recruit two others to do the same. These are just any voters, but targeted voters in your neighborhood whom we need to turnout.

Studies have proven (and Republicans have long known) that face to face conversations with neighbors, friends, and family is the BEST way to boost turnout. Mail, ads, and phone calls simply do not do the trick given Americans migration to other forms of communication- like the Internet.

There are now over 900 Neighborhood Leaders in Georgia, and over 100,000 in the nation. So you would be joining a select group should you take up this challenge. Everybody wants change. But change doesn't happen, we must make it happen and it begins with this program.

I will be conducting a training at Hildegard's Cafe and Bookstore in Valdosta, on July 8th, from 7-9pm. We will teach you everything you need to know to have productive and meaningful conversations with your neighbors about this truly important election. The event will bring together Democrats, both Hillary and Obama supporters, as both a show of Unity and and the beginning of action for this year's election.
